Copenhagen Spring/Summer Fashion Week (CPHFW) has been the hotspot for up and coming streetwear trends. With bold structures, vivacious patterns and lots and lots of layering, it’s no surprise that the streetwear looks are everywhere. Building on already strong and established trends like capri pants, polka dots and lace-layering, I think what really sets this year’s apart is the playfulness in the styling of these trends. This is what keeps it accessible and sets the Danish city apart from other European cities fashion weeks like Paris or London.
When breaking down many of these looks they’re made up of pieces that anyone would have in their wardrobe: flipflops, oversized shirts, scarves…
It’s how they are styled that truly makes the difference in elevating these looks. I wanted to break down some of my favourite looks and how easily they can be achieved. With autumn round the corner, many of these looks will take your summer wardrobe into September
1. Dresses over Jeans?
What first jumped out to me was the ways in which many pieces were unconventionally layered. The standout look for me was the range of dresses over jeans. I think if you told me three years ago that this was a popular street style trend I would have laughed with Ashley Tisdale‘s infamous (iconic) 2000s look coming to mind. However, what we are seeing is its thought-out, more elevated older cousin. Sheer lace maxi dresses with flipflops, silk black mini dresses with kitten heels and structured cotton pieces with Adidas trainers are a few I have noticed. I think it’s a great way to take a summer dress forward into the colder months and add a bit of interest to a more simple outfit.

2. Layers of Lace
One of my personal favourites, and undeniably timeless, is the incorporation of lace-layering into many outfits. It popped up on the runways too, with designers like Cecillie Bahnsen showcasing this trend. It is a beautiful blend of vintage charm and modern sophistication. I spotted everything from delicate, vintage lace dresses paired with structured blazers, to dainty lace headscarves adding a touch of romantic elegance to contemporary outfits. What’s particularly striking is how versatile lace can be. It softens the edges of more rigid tailoring while adding texture and depth. Meaning, you can artfully integrate it into your wardrobe to create a statement that feels both classic and current. It’s also a timeless staple that can be found almost anywhere! My personal favourite is finding second-hand or vintage pieces. Not only is it more sustainable and environmentally-friendly, they are often better quality and are made with superior craftsmanship.

3. Camo Print Comeback
Camo print has never really faded out of style, but it comes and goes. It’s crept back into many of the street style looks at this year’s CPHFW. For me, my Camo Topshop bomber jacket from 2016 was a staple for me in secondary school but I wouldn’t dream of wearing it now and has been long sold on Vinted. Perhaps I should have kept it? With Camo Print firmly into the mainstream and popping up all over the highstreet in the UK, is it time to bring back the long forgotten pieces at the back of our wardrobe?

4. Bermuda Shorts
Bermuda, or oversized shorts, have undeniably dominated this summer’s fashion scene, offering a comfortable and versatile alternative to traditional jeans or trousers. Seen at festivals and even making inroads into the workplace, their status as a wardrobe staple for 2025 and beyond was cemented at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Given their gender-neutral appeal and adaptability for various occasions, it is likely they will maintain their popularity for some time. As more silhouettes emerge, they are set to evolve even further. They will most definitely be a key transitional piece in everyone’s wardrobes.

5. Cow Hide Accessories
This season, cowhide accessories are making a comeback on the fashion scene, bringing a rugged yet refined edge to classic styles. Cowhide totes with bold, natural markings, or jackets that add intrigue to your everyday outfits. Copenhagen Fashion Week has branded them a must-have trend for 2025 and beyond. Their inherent versatility means they can jazz up anything from denim to dresses, appealing to consumers looking for both style and substance. The presence of cowhide adds a unique, rustic element to the typically sleek, minimalist aesthetic often associated with Scandinavian fashion, demonstrating a broader and different approach to global trends.

Copenhagen Fashion Week street style distinguished itself through the innovative presentation of emerging streetwear trends. The emphasis on playful yet sophisticated styling, combined with the accessible nature of the individual pieces, sets it apart from other prominent fashion events. The adaptability of these trends ensures their relevance as the seasons transition. They offer a practical and stylish approach to extending summer wardrobes into the autumn months.
